Maslow CNC Build

Big big thanks to Pete Humble for ordering, Pete Micallef for helping pick up all the lumbar, Jeremy Funke for general engineering wizardry and problem solving extraordinaire, Ned Haughton and Felix for bringing badass programming and design skills to 3D print and laser cut custom parts for the router, Bernard for supplying the perfect router out of thin air and all the awesome construction, Murray for bringing an architects’ eye to the construction and making sure the thing was square, Drew and Paul Schiebaan from Newcastle Mens Shed Inc for the support and the bottle of wine to christen the baby. Well done!

  1. My name is Fiona and I’m reaching out about my 12-year-old son, Archie.

Archie is currently doing distance education because he has been struggling with anxiety and hasn’t been able to attend school regularly. One of the things he absolutely loves, though, is 3D printing and building things. He has a Bambu Lab printer at home and spends a lot of time trying to learn how it works — cleaning it, maintaining it, and experimenting with prints.

He’s very curious about electronics, making things, and how machines work, but at the moment he’s quite isolated socially. I was wondering whether it might be possible for him to visit Sparkhaus sometime during the week and perhaps meet someone who knows a bit about 3D printing or maker projects — even just to have a look around, talk about what he’s doing, and learn from people who share those interests.

He would absolutely love the opportunity to be around people who enjoy building and tinkering. It would mean a lot for him to connect with others who understand that world.

If this might be possible, I’d really appreciate hearing from you about whether there might be a suitable time or option for a visit.
